Blogging can be helpful for developing a strong online presence and assist you in accomplishing your goals online. You could be anyone of the following and blogging can help:

An online entrepreneur.
An author.
A person who is simply tying to make a positive contribution to the world.
A work at home mom desiring to help families in some way.
Etc., etc.

Blogs are great places to communicate with people about who you are and what you want the world to hear through your blogging efforts.

Here are several helpful tips for attracting and keeping those readers you desire to influence!

Remember To Speak To Your Specific Audience

First, decide *very specifically* who you are as a person, what you desire to accomplish with your blog, and, therefore, who you desire to attract.

In other words, be focused and stay focused on those you desire to influence. Think about who they are, what they like, and how you can help them in the process of becoming who they want to become or what they desire to achieve or have in their lives.

By way of example, one blog I have is directed to a faith-based community and the name of the blog is Personal Spiritual Growth ( http://personal-spiritual-growth.blogspot.com ). And one of the other blogs I have is the one you will see in the signature below which is directed to a different, though complementary, group of people which you can see by the title: Attraction Marketing Excellence.

Remember To Make Quality Comments

One great way to potentially boost readership for your blog is by commenting on blogs related to your interests and goals. When commenting, however, remember to be:

Complementary.
Sincere.
And as consistent as possible.

Where allowed, definitely include the url for your blog. Do NOT, however, being a walking advertisement.

The more you post on blogs, the more potential you have for becoming more widely know within your targeted group. For the most effectiveness, you may want to spend at least an hour a day commenting on other blogs.

Remember: Provide value first. Think “I am going to build positive relationships and give value in doing so.”

Seek To Build Relationships

This, obviously, is the reason behind the points I made above about making comments on the blogs of others.

Here I am emphasizing the need for making a focused effort on building quality relationships which may spring from such activities.

For instance, you could have a guest post from another person you have built up a relationship with through your commenting or even emailing/interacting with them personally. You can still call people you know, lol!

You could become an affiliate of some of their products — or they yours — and swap ads for instance. Or, mutually recommend each other’s lists.

My point is simple here: keep exploring ways to formulate and take advantage of good, quality relationships with other bloggers, online marketers, etc.

Wrapping Things Up

Summarizing, then:

Speak to a specific audience.
Consistently make quality comments.
Be consistent and creative in your relationship building.

Of course, always remember to:

Give value.
Be yourself: i.e. be “You” and not someone else.
