There comes a time in your networkingcareer you will decide that you are NOT going to pay for leads, ever again.

That happened for me some time ago. It was tough for a while, but now I have created my own lead generation machine.

I simply got tired of the insanity of purchasing leads. A few of the things that were making me crazy…

1. Copies of the same lead sold to me over and over.
I was paying for leads, and I was getting charged more than one time for the same prospect.

2. Leads oversold
The lead company would sell the lead over and over and over… and over again. The prospect would be upset because so many people were calling him

3. Non converting leads

I don’t blame the lead companies for this, but if I couldn’t convert the lead, regardless of the reason, the lead was useless to me.

4. Leads not serious

It doesn’t mean just because they filled out some form online that they have a serious interest… I’m guilty myself of this one!!.

5. Poor quality prospects

Incentivized leads.Leads filled out the form because they were entered into a contest or got some sort of “freebie” unrelated to your business.
They thought they were filling out a job application
Prospects that are unemployed
Prospects that are flat broke. I’m not against being broke, I’ve been there, but some of these people it seems to be a lifestyle choice!.

When I first decided that I wasn’t going to buy leads anymore, i realized that I had to change my mindset. The lead companies were making money by producing leads, so I knew I could too.

Deep down I knew there had to be a better way. This is really when my education into marketing really began. I was looking everywhre to get as much knowledge as I could on internet marketing and generating my own leads.. I knew that if I could just get in contact with enough good prospects I would be ok.

I spent a lot of time and money on my education!!

I let my losses and mistakes teach me what not to do, and I let my successes speak for themselves.

This is basically what I learned.

Attraction Marketing is the key to it all. I read (and purchased) much of Mike Dillards’ Magnetic Sponsoring materials (I would highly recommened) Mike’s materials focus on becoming a leader.

Most of us like to follow a winner. We want to put our trust into someone who has “been there and done that” We look to people that have made the accomplishments that we want to make and we model those people.

Being an expert in a particular area draws people to you. For example, when you need to go to the doctor, you go to someone that has a degree and a reputation right? You don’t go to someone with no expertise when you need professional medical advice.

It’s similar in all aspects of life. We like to follow a leader. We want to learn from the experts.

Although there are many avenues to pursue when it comes to Attraction Marketing but, a key concept is Making yourself an expert through Article Marketing

You could use this concept today to grow your business. Here are the basics.

Prospect looks for a keyword or topic in one of the search engines or article directories.

Articles come up in the search based on the topic. The prospect clicks on a few of those and reads them.

He is intriqued by one article in particular, and he wants to learn more. He goes to one of the links at the bottom of the page.

This is the basic idea of attraction marketing using articles. That reader was brought right to the authors website, for free, because the author wrotea good article…
